Something most chasers do when there are no storms to be chased, especially in the off season, is to watch their footage that they have accumulated over the years.  I have finished off my 10th season this year, starting back  in 1999.  I was not really into the tornadoes as much, since we do not get very many here in Michigan.  I started out photographing lightning.  It wasn’t till 2001 that I had my first camera.  Finally in 2002 I saw my first tornado near Marshall, MI.  When I first started chasing I was very lax in keeping chase logs and accounts.  I still can be even now, they have the potential to take a long time.

So as I was saying, chasers often look at old video in the off season.  I noticed that I did not have any video grabs from a particular tornado Nick Grillo, Dan Robinson, and I, had intercepted on June 9, 2005.  So here are a few grabs that I was able to capture.  The contrast was fairly bleak so I tried to enhance it a little.  This was tornado number 6 of the day, east of Hill City, Kansas.

Some video Grabs slightly enhanced.

In the next few weeks I will be transitioning from VHS to digital some video from the May 12, 2004 Medicine Lodge, KS tornado. Stay tuned.
