My wife and I went on a nature walk this afternoon and I took some shots, pretty simple post check the pics click to make um bigger.
I wanted to try and use Photoshop for this as I got an older version photo shop 7 but it did not want to open up my NEF(RAW) files. I do not know why or what I have to do any one have any helpers?
My beautiful wife
I also tried Picasa 3 from google. It works okay but you can shrink the size of the image file. you can only enlarge or shrink it by pixels. It will still be close to over 1MB. So I have been using my Nikon Picture project right now with irfanview. Still large file sizes. ARRRGGGGG
Well the footage that was used may have been miscommunicated because they used my June 29 2005 footage for the May 25th 2008 F5 wedge. I guess this can be expected many tornado shows now adays do not allways get details right. I know they tried to do there best as they inquired several times to make sure they were using the right footage. Oh well.
Michigan needs some weather before it gets cold here.
I forgot I had Captured this back in August East of Lansing, MI. I exposed for 15 seconds with and F13 and it still blew out alittle. I shot one at F6.5 and that blew out the entire shot. However, I was happy to catch this one. all the bolt were very extrem and bright.
Tornado Rampage is on tonight 9pm EDT 16 seconds of my footage is on it. May 25th, 2008 F-5 wedge. I do not know what portion of the clip they used but I hope I wasn’t made to look a fool.
If you have read this in Storm Track there is some new text with added some photos of the day as well as two options to chose from for a video link. See below.
Headed out to southern MI with Bob H and later met up with David Diehl.
We intercepted the first supercell near Schoolcraft but were unable to get to the northern part of the storm to witness the tornado in Paw Paw. We witness a nice structured supercell and followed it to its death around Battle Creek. however, near Climax we witnessed a white broad cone funnel. We then headed to Marshall and caught a wifi spot because bobs cell phone was acting up. We then dropped south to meet with David north of Coldwater and watched the second play of the day in Indianan running almost Parallel to 120. We intercepted this supercell as it was still tornado warned with a nice elongated cone funnel what looked to half way to the ground Just outside of Orland. unfortunately with brief openings in the trees and corn fields not much was captured on video but I’ll try to get a video grab or two of it. After reviewing the video there is a confirmed funnel. I’ll post some vid grabs later contrast needs tweaking. bob may also have some still shots of the funnel.
Some shots of the day. Click pic to enlarge.
I was taking this shot because i like the color and composer however, at the time of this photo there was a tornado on the ground in Paw Paw, MI as we were just south of School Craft. We caught the south south of the other supercell flowing parallel to the tornado producing cell the north.
This southern cell did produce a short lived funnel as it was approaching Climax MI. In the video it had some very distinct supercell features to it as well. It was a classic HP hybrid.
Bob’s shot is more distinct as he was able to catch it earlier in it’s life.
We then dropped south to the Indiana border as we met up with David. I wish i was able to get the contrast and sharpness corrected on the funnel we witnessed over Orland, IN, but screen grabs from the video were not working very well for this. However, you are afforded a brief glimpse of this elongated funnel near the water tower. We then got closer to the Storms base minutes after the funnel. and the storm was definitely rotating but it was beginning to push out and become linear.
Any way here are the following shots. Still working on this sharpe image thing, it would help if i had tripoded it.
And for the Video clips i uploaded one on this site and it is 19.3MB if you would like a bit better qaulity of a video Here is the Link
